Voter ID Card Verification explained in detail!
Voter ID card verification is an important step taken by the government to restrict corruption, avoid fake voters and provide security to the individual’s details. You just have to verify it once and after that, any other service can be easily performed.
The government is trying its best to simplify this verification process and has made it possible through online and offline methods. The online (digital) process is much more convenient than the offline (manual) one. Here, we will explain both these methods in detail.
Online Verification of Voter ID Cards
Online Verification process follows a series of steps which are given below.

The government has started the National Voters Services Portal which is nvsp.in. This website facilitates the voters in a number of ways. It has all the details about registration, correction changes etc. You can also make or delete your profile, change your details, make corrections etc. through this website.
Once you know about the process details by the website, you need to fill out the required registration form. If you are applying for the first time, then go for “Form 6”. Fill the form carefully and give the specified details. After that, submit the form online along with the required documents.
Note that you have to provide the scanned set of documents and a passport size photograph has to be attached to them too.
Documents Submission (Hard Copy)
Besides filling the form and sending scanned documents, you also have to submit those documents by hand to the nearest electoral office. Ensure that the documents are submitted in person instead of posting or couriering. Because posting can be troublesome and you may lose your documents or misplace them by this.

This is how a vote id is verified online. If the details of your aadhaar card or pan card do not match the details mentioned in the form, then the verification is done manually or offline.
Offline Registration Process
If your online verification is rejected, then you have to go through the offline process. This process is quite simple and is given below.

Reason for an Elaborated Voter ID Card Verification Process
There is no doubt that each political party does everything it could to win in elections as each one is against the other. Due to this reason, it was seen that they were using illegal methods to win in elections.
Using the same id card various times had become a common practice. In this way, the number of votes for a particular party increases by using the same id card at different booths. But thankfully this illegitimate practice got caught by the election commission and the government got alerted on this matter.
Therefore, the government imposed such a strict and elaborate verification process to avoid any illicit activity during elections.
Note: There are still certain areas where the online process is not yet accessible and offered. It is recommended to check with the nearest electoral office before applying online to avoid any inconvenience later.
